World Bowls thanks Gerry Baker for years of service

Following Gerry Baker’s resignation from the World Bowls Board, The President and Executive of Bowls South Africa extend their utmost gratitude to Gerry, for his five-year tenure, serving on the World Bowls Board as Regional Director for Africa.

Gerry’s resignation became effective immediately following the conclusion of the WB Annual Council Meetings held on 19 November 2024.

Neil Dalrymple, WB CEO writes:

“On behalf of the Board, our members and staff we thank Gerry most sincerely for his sterling service as a WB Regional Director since he was first elected in 2020.

Over the last four years Gerry has made a truly invaluable contribution to the important work of World Bowls, in particular his welcome advice and strong advocacy for growing the sport in the Africa Region.

Through Gerry’s work and that of other African Regional Directors before him, we understand the exciting opportunities that exist to further strengthen and grow the sport of Bowls in Africa.

World Bowls looks forward to continuing to develop Bowls further in the Region in the years ahead.

And, we look forward to being able to call on Gerry from time to time for his expertise and experience as we do so.

For now, on behalf of the Board, all MNAs, our staff, volunteers and other officials, I extend again our heartfelt thanks to Gerry for his brilliant contribution to the World Bowls and his deep commitment and passion for our great sport.”
