In their journey to the top, Western Province had to overcome some stiff competition. Their semi-final clash against Bowls Gauteng North was a closely contested encounter, but they showed their championship pedigree by securing a crucial 15-13 win to book their spot in the final. The victory was a testament to their consistency and ability to handle pressure in key moments.
Natal Inland, who reached the final after a strong performance in their own semi-final against Southern Free State (13-12), proved to be formidable opponents.
They played with determination throughout the tournament, particularly in their semi-final win, where they overcame a spirited challenge from Southern Free State to advance to the title decider.
However, in the final, it was Western Province’s day.
With excellent teamwork, precise shots, and focus, they outplayed Natal Inland to claim the top honours. The entire tournament highlighted the depth of talent in the younger generation of bowls in the country as well as the ability of these young bowlers to perform on the big stage.
The victory will be celebrated by the entire Western Province district and sets the tone for future success.
